About the Artist

Sheri grew up in Curryville, MO and graduated from BGHS. She earned a BFA in Commercial Art and established her art business, Lewis-Grote Illustrations in 1995. She has created artwork such as full color murals for individuals, businesses, colleges and area schools ranging from 2'x2' to 64'x8'. Mixed media watercolor and pen and ink works include magazine covers, book illustrations, personalized family portaits and keepsakes and specialized cards for the Shriner's Hospital, CSC and CMSU. While working on freelance artwork Sheri has also completed billboard work and painted at The Muny in St. Louis, MO.

Sheri's latest work is "Enchanted", a whimsical full color mural inspired by imagination and ideas from our library community. It portrays a wise tree reading to a gathering group of mystical creatures and fairies that flows into a sea scene. It starts at the main entry doors, continues onto the ceiling and ends to the left of the check-in desk. There are many hidden subjects for fun. You may recognize some of the portraits of the requested fairies. They are actual children from the area.Sheri enjoys following the artistic path and continues to paint and teach art. She lives in Bowling Green with her husband Chris and their daughters Caleigh and Caitlin. See her in action below!
